The Oregon Ducks opened up their Offense with six home runs vs Arizona State on Saturday.

With Starter Miranda Elish on the mound, the Oregon Ducks found comfort in their Starting Pitcher as the bats came to life. Gwen Svekis hit two home runs in the 9-1 series-clinching win. Mary Iakopo also had a home run in the fifth following the second by Svekis.

Iakopo returned to her familiar spot as Catcher, Lilley was back at third base and Gwen Svekis made it count as the Designated Player for Game Two of the series. Miranda Elish continued to dominate on the mound picking up her 14th win of the season throwing 7 innings and giving up four hits and one run and picking up 12 strikeouts.

For the Oregon Ducks, the power came from the middle of the lineup starting with Svekis. Along with Iakopo, DJ Sander and Mia Camuso. The quintet shared six runs off eight hits as part of the Oregon Ducks thirteen hits in the game.

Oregon hit .382 in the game and over .500 with two outs while holding Arizona State to just 4 for 25 from the plate and a .160 batting average. The Oregon Ducks have 6 of their 9 Starters batting better than .300 with Alexis Mack hitting .397 to lead the team in batting average. Gwen Svekis is hitting .339 and has already surpassed her home run output from last season.

The Oregon Ducks close out the three-game series vs Arizona State on Sunday before facing a top-five opponent at Jane Sanders Stadium on Thursday with Oklahoma visiting for a single game before heading to Corvallis to take on Oregon State next weekend.
