The Oregon Ducks won the first two games of the series at Arizona State but were unable to get the sweep after losing 4-0 on Sunday.

Oregon Starter Megan Kleist started the game with two strikeouts but gave up a run. It was just the second run given up by the Ducks Pitching Staff in the first inning all season. Kleist was pulled after two innings having given up a run off two hits. Maggie Balint followed and did not fare much better. Balint threw 1 1/3 innings and gave up two hits off two runs putting the Ducks down 4 runs after 4 innings.

Following two impressive outings on Offense that saw Oregon put up 13 hits and 6 home runs on Saturday, the Ducks bats were quieted on Sunday. The Ducks had just 3 hits from their lineup and left five on base.

Oregon was held to batting just .125 for the game – one of their lowest totals of the season. Oregon was just .111 with runner in scoring position. ASU Starter Giselle Juarez had a rough start on Friday with Oregon giving her just the second loss on her season.

She came back firing on Sunday holding Oregon to just 3 hits while allowing the Arizona State Offense to find momentum early to get the win. Juarez threw 7 innings and struck out 7 for her 18th win of the season.

The Oregon Ducks return home this week for four games starting with Oklahoma. The Ducks will host Stanford for three games starting Friday. The weekend will also be Alumni and Senior Weekend at Jane Sanders Stadium.
