Erin Boley led Team Oregon Ducks to a Championship win, but she had some help from her friends Sabrina Ionescu and Ruthy Hebard.

The 2017-18 Women’s Basketball season came to a close earlier this month, four Oregon Ducks have been preparing to play for USA Basketball against some of the top talent in the Women’s Game. Over the weekend USA Basketball hosted a 3×3 tournament. Team Oregon Ducks took the National Title after going undefeated (8-0) against some of the best talent in the country.

Team Oregon Ducks was led by Sabrina Ionescu who helped the Ducks to close to double-digit leads in the Semi-Final Round and in the Final Game vs Bye Felicia. Oregon opened the Final with a 7-0 lead and closed out the game on a 9-0 run. In 3×3 the point system is slightly different. Outside the arc is a two-point shot. Anything inside is a single point.

Erin Boley, who sat out the 2017-18 season at Oregon due to transfer rules had experience in the 2105 U18 3×3 Tournament and led Team Oregon in the Championship Game setting the pace with 8 points, all from beyond the arc. Ruthy Hebard and Oti Gildon were also key contributors as the mini Oregon Ducks squad went undefeated taking the National Title for 2018. The Ducks sent players last season as well and ended in second place in the 2017 USA Basketball 3×3 Tournament.

Both Sabrina Ionescu and Erin Boley bring National an International experience to the table. Both are Oregon Ducks, but despite Boley having to sit out last season, she was able to practice with the team and learn from coaches. That experience showed on the court for USA Basketball.

USA Basketball will now look to put together a team for the World Tournament. I expect that several Oregon Ducks could find themselves playing and gaining more experience as summer approaches.
