Following the 2018 NFL Draft, several former Oregon Ducks signed with teams under Free Agent contracts.

For some players, the chance of playing in the National Football League is still on life support. Following the NFL Draft, teams will sign players as Free Agent additions, typically with an invite to Camp for workouts.

The most notable was Henry Mondeaux putting pen to paper with the New Orleans Saints. Mondeaux played an important role for the Oregon Defense in 2017 as was also the Captain for Defensive Coordinator Jim Leavitt. It was a bit of a surprise that he was not among the 256 players taken in the 2018 NFL Draft, but he will have his opportunity to work his way into the lineup for the Saints.

Long Snapper Tanner Carew was one of the more popular players for Oregon Football, if not for hearing Public Address Announcer Don Essig say his name after every touchdown just before the extra point. Carew signed with the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday. Carew was the lone long snapper invited to the NFL Combine.

Safety Tyree Robinson played multiple positions on Defense for the Oregon Ducks in 2017. His versatility likely came into play as teams were making a decision, but he was also not selected in the NFL Draft. It did not take long after for him to land with the Dallas Cowboys as a Free Agent. Robinson performed well on the Ducks Pro Day back in March showing off his ability through numerous drills. He will have the opportunity to get on the field in Big D.

Cornerback Arrion Springs had his growing pains in an Oregon Uniform and has signed with the Kansas City Chiefs in Free Agency. He joins former Oregon Duck De’Anthony Thomas with Kansas City. One area of concern with Springs is his size, but if he remains healthy he will be able to show his ability in training camp.

Several other former Oregon Ducks have yet to be signed in the NFL including Wide Receivers Charles Nelson and Darren Carrington among them. The 2018 NFL Draft concluded on Saturday with Royce Freeman and Tyrell Crosby being selected. Freeman is headed to Denver. Crosby will join former Oregon Duck LeGarrette Blount in Detroit.
