The Oregon Ducks took an early lead against Oregon State, but the Beavers rallied for the 4-3 win on Tuesday night at PK Park.

Oregon Starting Pitcher Kenyon Yovan took Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week honors after a fifteen strikeout performance and win over the USC Trojans. On Tuesday, Yovan hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the first inning to give the Ducks a 3-0 lead over Oregon State, but the Beavers would rally.

The Oregon Ducks Offense struggled against Oregon State. The team had just three hits in the game, including Yovan’s home run. As a team, the Ducks hit just 0.74 against OSU Pitching. Despite the low output, the Ducks struck out just four times overall. Head Coach George Horton watched the final inning and saw two of the eleven ground ball outs to close out the game in a 4-3 loss. Oregon State now leads the season series over the Ducks 5-0.

James Acuna took the start for Oregon and gave up four runs and three hits. He also hit two batters. Oregon State had the momentum and left eight runners on base. While the Ducks took the loss, there were some positive moments that came from the game. The team held eight OSU Runners on base, not allowing them to score. Down a run, Oregon had a chance to rally in the final two innings.

The sixth-ranked Oregon State Beavers looked like a top ten team. They did not panic with the Ducks early 3-0 lead and found a way to chip away and earn the victory.
