Former Oregon Duck Chris Boucher was cut by the Golden State Warriors following the NBA Draft.

Boucher saw action in one game with the Warriors but played a key role for one season with the team’s G-League team. He was about to begin the second season but will have to find another team. The former Duck made a name for himself at the University of Oregon as a Defensive Shot Blocker. In his final season, he added some Offense with a three-point shot but went down in the Pac-12 Tournament with a torn ACL. He spent much of the offseason getting back on the court and was not selected during the NBA Draft, but did make it as a Free Agent.

There are several two-way players that Golden State is considering but they could find themselves looking back at Chris Boucher and resigning him. While Boucher is looking for a new home within the National Basketball Association, he has had a busy week playing for Team Canada as they prepare for FIBA next year.

Chris Boucher played a key role with 17 points and 5 blocks in Team Canada’s win over China. The former Oregon Duck was on point with a key sequence and back to back blocks against two of Team China’s Best Players. He received a big ovation from the crowd for his effort in the win. Both teams will play again on Sunday.

The two-game series is considered a warm-up as Team Canada prepares for World Cup Qualifying games against the Dominican Republic and the US Virgin Islands. Canada is 3-1 all-time in Qualifying Matches and Boucher, along with another former Oregon Duck, Dillon Brooks hope to add another.

The team can take first place in their Group by beating the Dominican Republic and US Virgin Islands teams respectively. The road to FIBA Qualifying continues later this year.
