Former Oregon Duck MiKyle McIntosh will play in the NBA Summer League with the Portland Trailblazers.

McIntosh was a key player for Oregon in 2017-18 leading the team in points per game and playing key roles on both ends of the floor. He averaged 12 points and 6 rebounds per game. Both Troy Brown and McIntosh worked out on the same day with Portland several weeks ago. McIntosh brings experience into his first Professional position after transferring to Oregon last season from Illinois State.

Both teams used him in a different position, and McIntosh was able to find a quick adjustment to what Head Coach Dana Altman wanted him to do in his single season with Oregon. He was one of two former Oregon Ducks to go undrafted. Elijah Brown landed on his feet with the Golden State Warriors Summer League Team.

McIntosh saw a start in all 36 games for the Oregon Ducks. He was able to find his range hitting close to 35 percent from three-point range. Oregon failed to make the NCAA Tournament last season and fell short of the NIT Semi-Finals. The team struggled to find leadership early in the season. Following the departure of key players like Dillon Brooks, Chris Boucher, and Tyler Dorsey, who led the team to the NCAA Tournament in 2016, the struggle to find chemistry cost the team last season.

Freshman Troy Brown made a big impact early, but struggled quite a bit on the road. In his lone season with the Ducks’ he shot just 29 percent from three-point range. He was selected as a First Round NBA Draft pick by the Washington Wizards.

In speaking with MiKyle McIntosh while he was in Eugene, it was clear that he had the ‘team’ mentality and would go out and do his best to help Oregon win. He will now have a chance to show his ability to do just that in Las Vegas this summer.
