Marcus Mariota, Teammates Putting In Effort Before Training Camp
Former Oregon Football Quarterback Marcus Mariota is wasting no time during the summer as he prepares for the 2018 season.
The last few seasons for Mariota have been rough, Last year he was rehabbing a broken leg. He showed no ill effects of the injury during the season, but on Offense, he was let down by his teammates. The former Duck threw 15 interceptions on the year, but still managed to help the team to a Playoff Berth, the first in over ten seasons for fans in Nashville.
He enters the 2018 season with the same work ethic he has always had. He was on the field over the last few days working with current and future teammates. Mariota hosted a two-day throwing session with some old faces and others new. Several players joined Mariota for a similar workout in March when he spent time in California. Some of the names were the same for the meeting over the weekend.
One thing that Marcus Mariota has always been good at is competition. He finds ways to make the players around him better. The hope is that in working and building chemistry over the Preseason, his teammates can pay it forward in 2018. The former Oregon Duck is already well aware of what doesn’t work. The team was ranked 23rd in Passing Offense last season.
Mariota said he is looking to find things that will work in 2018. With a new Head Coach in Mike Vrabel and a new Offensive Coordinator, the direction he is headed should be followed by everyone in the organization.
Anytime you have the chance to build chemistry at an elite level, you do it and Marcus Mariota is the type of player that is easily the leader on Offense for Tennessee.
