Tyler Dorsey is hitting his NBA Summer League Stride through just two games putting up points on the scoreboard.

Former Oregon Duck Tyler Dorsey had an important first season as a Professional with the Atlanta Hawks. He had an opportunity early to get in playing time on an NBA Floor before being shuffled down a level. His rookie season saw a handful of Starts and an average of just over 7 points per game.

The Atlanta Hawks are a team in transition and enter 2018 with a new Head Coach who is still taking a look at the pieces he has for both the present and future. Dorsey plays in a key Guard position and showed at the University of Oregon that he can play on both Offense and Defense. He can shoot well and also guard on the opposite end, a key attribute in the NBA Today.

Despite the Atlanta Hawks losing their first two NBA Summer League games in Las Vegas, both by double digits, Tyler Dorsey was the player who stepped up in both games. Against Memphis on Monday to open Summer League Play, Dorsey scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. The former Oregon Duck is averaging 16 points and 6 rebounds through two games and is showing that he can become a factor for Atlanta for the upcoming season.

Tyler Dorsey was selected in the 2017 NBA Draft and has not had much opportunity to show his talents at the next level. That changed this week. Dorsey has been waiting for his opportunity. He did play in the final five games of the regular season for Atlanta, but the team was far out of the NBA Playoff race and is still in the process of rebuilding.

Dorsey and the Atlanta Hawks return to the court on Thursday night as the NBA Summer League continues as they take on the Utah Utes.
