Former Oregon Football Quarterback Jeremiah Masoli continues the season with a record-setting pace for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

Through two games he has over 1300 yards passing and has tied a CFL mark for 300+ yards at nine while former first-round NFL Draft pick Johnny Manziel sits on the bench waiting for his time to play. During the offseason, the biggest storyline in the CFL was the addition of Quarterback Johnny Manziel, who signed a two-year contract with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the hopes of beginning a comeback to the National Football League. So far, it has not gone to plan.

Jeremiah Masoli has found his niche in the Hamilton Offense and has been able to put up record-setting yards with over 300 through the air per game. In his worst game of the year, he threw for 322 yards and made up for a ‘poor’ passing effort with three touchdowns.  The story of both Masoli and Manziel is intriguing.

Both have found trouble in their respective football careers and both have reached a moment of a turnaround. Masoli has had five seasons with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and has become Head Coach June Jones’s best option at Quarterback. He even said so before the start of the season. Jones has decided to go with the hot hand(or arm) and in this case, it has paid off with Masoli putting up big yards this season in the Canadian Football League.

Johnny Manziel will have his opportunity but with Masoli leading the team into the heart of the CFL Regular season, it may be a while before the former Cleveland Brown Quarterback has his chance.

Aside from Masoli. the Tiger-Cats have two Running Backs that are making noise of their own this season. Mercer Timmis and Sean Thomas Erlington have combined for over 225 yard and 4 touchdowns over the last two games.
