Oregon Football Adds Boise State To Schedule Starting In 2024
Oregon Football has added three games against Boise State to the future schedule, but fans will have to wait a few years.
The Oregon Ducks and Boise State have a history on the playing field. Going back a few seasons no one will forget LeGarrette Blount’s punch in 2009. The Broncos hold a 3-0 series lead on the Ducks following last seasons Las Vegas Bowl victory. The upcoming three-game series will begin in 2024 with Boise State coming to Autzen Stadium.
Last time out, Mario Cristobal was facing Boise State as Head Coach after the departure of Willie Taggart to Florida State. The game did not go well for the Oregon Ducks despite Quarterback Justin Herbert returning. Oregon started the game with several false start penalties as it appeared the team was not ready to play. Despite the early struggle, Oregon made a game of it losing 38-28.
Compared to this season’s Non-Conference slate of Bowling Green, Portland State and San Jose State, the coming seasons for Oregon Football appear in much better shape. The team will compete this season for a spot at the College Football Playoff table but may come up short because of their first three games.
In 2019 the team opens the season against Auburn, who faces Washington to open the 2018 campaign. The Ducks will also face Nevada and Montana next year at Autzen Stadium. The 2020 season begins a home and away series with Ohio State with the Buckeyes visiting Eugene first. The Buckeyes are again a Top 10 team entering this season and I expect the momentum will continue as they push their way through a Challenging Big Ten schedule.
Oregon and Boise State will meet at Autzen Stadium in 2024 and 2026 with the game being played in Boise in 2025.
