Oregon Football: Ducks Add Michigan State To Future Schedule

Oregon Football has agreed to play Michigan State in another home and home series starting in the 2029 season.

While most fans are more excited for the soon to be future matchups with Auburn and Ohio State. Oregon Football has added their second Power 5 Opponent to their future schedule this week with the addition of the Michigan State Spartans to the 2029 and 2030 schedule. For the moment most 7 year-olds likely are not as excited about the announcement. However, parents can now set the date for their son(or daughter) to possibly play for Oregon in the game.

Head Coach Mario Cristobal has drawn a line for Oregon Football when it comes to scheduling. Meeting Boise State and Michigan State in the future shows that Oregon is not afraid to go out and add potentially solid opponents to the schedule during his tenure. As we already know, a bad season or two with a passionate fanbase means another potential vacancy for Oregon Football and their Head Coaching position. (In no means am I expecting this coaching staff to have that problem.)

The last time Michigan State and Oregon met was during the 2014-15 seasons. Oregon went into a Top Ten Matchup and Marcus Mariota and Royce Freeman sparked a big non-conference win. The following season, MSU repaid the favor winning on their home turf. The series is slated to kick off this time around in 2029 with Michigan State hosting the first game in East Lansing. Oregon will host at Autzen Stadium the following season.

Both Oregon and Michigan State have seen the home team win in the series of six total meetings between the two teams. The Ducks have also scheduled fellow Big Ten opponent Ohio State over upcoming seasons in 2020 and 2021.

Oregon Football is in Fall Camp getting ready for the 2018 Season Opener against Bowling Green on Saturday, September 1st at 5 pm Pacific Time on Pac-12 Network.
