Oregon Football is off to a 1-0 start to the season, but former Head Coach Willie Taggart was not so lucky Monday night and Oregon Fans are letting him know it.

While some may be wanting to take it easy on the Ducks’ former Head Coach for taking his ‘dream job’ with the Florida State Seminoles, others are flat out trolling Willie Taggart after a dismal start to his FSU Coaching Career in a blowout loss against West Virginia on National Television.

Entering the game, Florida State had all the intangibles that could have given them the victory. Quarterback Deondre Francois played well after coming off a knee injury early last season. He went 22 of 35, but threw three interceptions, two inside the 40-yardline that were both scores for West Virginia.

The FSU Running Game was also stagnant on the night putting up just 94 yards as a team, including a run by Francois. Anytime the opponent can force you into mistakes and make you one-dimensional, your going to lose.

One aspect of the game that took some attention was the Quarterback. While Justin Herbert threw for five touchdowns in the Oregon Ducks win over Bowling Green,  the story was different for a player coming off a major injury. It seemed, throughout the game that the entire Florida State team was not prepared to play.

Special Teams were disastrous throughout the game. Florida State had two fumbles and five total turnovers in the game. They were 5 for 16 on third down and the team had 7 penalties for 36 yards, which seems to be a key statistic with any Willie Taggart team. Last season with the Ducks, Oregon was the most penalized team in the country.

Florida State joins Michigan, Miami, and Washington as ranked teams that all lost in Week 1. There is a rebound story here for all four for this week.

The Seminoles host Samford on Saturday at 4:20 pm Pacific Time.
