Kenjon Barner Agrees To Terms With New England Patriots
Former Oregon Football Running Back Kenjon Barner has a signed with the New England Patriots.
Kenjon Barner has had several teams he has called home in the National Football League and now joins his fourth NFL Team in his career. Those teams include the Philadelphia Eagles, Carolina Panthers, a brief stop with the then San Diego Chargers. He spent this past offseason with Carolina but was cut just before the start of the 2018 NFL Season.
For the New England Patriots, the team signed Running Back Jeremy Hill to a one year deal in the offseason, but Hill went down and is lost for the season with an ACL injury. Barner will see the field in New England and provides experience in a key backup position on the Patriots roster for the rest of this season. Despite the loss of Hill, New England beat the Houston Texans in Week 1.
Kenjon Barber is becoming a young journeyman in the National Football League. I’m not saying it is a bad thing, but as long as your available when a team calls and you can help it puts you in the right position. For Barner, he likely has thought this several times since he has been in the League, but this time around it could be true.
Barner has talent. He is fast on the field and can play multiple positions from Return Man to Running Back. He is also a Running Back that can catch the ball in the backfield or anywhere else making him unique despite his size.
The experience for Barner signing with New England should pay dividends for both parties. Barner brings 45 career games into the fold. He has run four just over 300 yards in his NFL Career scoring three touchdowns but has also caught the ball for 127 Receiving Yards.
Barner could see his first action with the New England as the Patriots play the Jacksonville Jaguars.
