Oregon Women’s Basketball: Ducks Set For National Stage

The Oregon Women’s Basketball team is on the rise entering the 2018-19 season and the schedule has earned attention.

During the time that Head Coach Kelly Graves has been in Eugene, the Oregon Women’s Basketball team has been on a historic rise. Last season, Oregon hosted the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament and expectations this season is even higher for Sabrina Ionescu, Ruthy Hebard, Satou Sabally and the rest of the team.

Oregon will be on television 19 times this season, including four on ESPN2. The Ducks pay homage to Ruthy Hebard and travel to Fairbanks Alaska to open the season on the road. Their first home game on Saturday, November 10th will be a big test out of the game as Oregon hosts Syracuse(November 10, 2 pm PT).

The non-conference slate kicks into gear on Sunday, December 2nd when Oregon hosts Long Beach State before traveling to East Lansing to take on Michigan State on Sunday, December 9th. The Ducks close out 2018 hosting four games at Matthew Knight Arena including Ole Miss, Air Force, and UC Irvine. The Ducks will also face Concordia on December 30th in an Exhibition game before Pac-12 play begins after the start of the new year.

Oregon opens conference play against Washington and Washington State at home before traveling to the Los Angeles Schools, USC and UCLA. Oregon will then play host to Arizona and Arizona State at home. Oregon Women’s Basketball will face the Stanford Cardinal just once this year, on the road, Sunday, February 10th. Oregon will meet Oregon and Oregon State on the same weekend, in Eugene on Friday, February 15th. Oregon takes the game to Corvallis three days later on Monday, February 18th.

Sabrina Ionescu left USA Basketball National team activities last week and returned to Eugene to be with her teammates for the upcoming season. Oregon opened Fall Practice earlier this week. Oregon Men’s and Women’s Basketball will host a preseason event next Friday night showcasing both teams for the upcoming season.
