Oregon Football’s win vs. UCLA was vital one for Mario Cristobal and the Ducks fanbase. It wasn’t, however, enough to earn Oregon a spot in the College Football Playoff Rankings.

Boy, this post is much more fun to compose after a win than a loss. This time around, we got to beat the bejesus out of Chip Kelly and the Bruins. It’s similar to the Rocky V scenario with Tommy Gunn. Tommy partners up with Rocky as his trainer and starts kicking everyone’s tails. Then Tommy starts feeling himself and thinks he’s bigger and better than Rocky so he bolts and goes with the money, signing with a Hollywood-esque agent. But, that comes back to bite him in the butt because old retired Rocky beats the crap out of Tommy in some bar, knocking him out of all relevance. So yeah, Rocky won.

Basically, Chip Kelly, you are Tommy Gunn. Stick with what works. It’s simple. By the way, how’s that L taste? Awful? Good, I hope so.

Now here’s the committee’s rankings:

  1. Alabama
  2. Clemson
  3. Notre Dame
  4. Michigan
  5. Georgia
  6. Oklahoma
  7. LSU
  8. Washington State
  9. West Virginia
  10. Ohio State
  11. Kentucky
  12. UCF
  13. Syracuse
  14. NC State
  15. Florida
  16. Mississippi State
  17. Boston College
  18. Michigan State
  19. Texas
  20. Penn State
  21. Iowa
  22. Iowa State
  23. Fresno State
  24. Auburn
  25. Washington

Too High

The ACC – What in the world is happening on the East Coast? Why is Syracuse, NC State, and Boston College ranked so high on these rankings? It makes no sense. Syracuse’s best win is against NC State, whose best win is against Boston College who hasn’t even beat a ranked team! A team like Texas may have three losses but darn it they beat Oklahoma, which is 50 times more impressive than the best win any ACC team has. Seriously, what is the ACC’s best win? I’ll give you some time…it’s Pittsburgh’s victory over 13th ranked Syracuse! Pathetic. The ACC is putrid this year.

Too Low

Florida – They beat Mississippi State and LSU. I shouldn’t have to type another word. When you’re 6-3 with those two wins (and one coming on the road mind you), that’s grounds for being higher than low-life’s NC State and Syracuse. Florida has actually beaten good teams and not lost to terrible ones. The Gators should be rewarded accordingly.
