On Monday, Dana Altman announced Oregon Basketball added three pieces of the future of the program including a Junior College Transfer and two high schoolers.

Chris Duarte is considered one of the top Junior College players available. Duarte is 6 foot 6 and can play multiple spots on the floor, which could come in well with Altman and the Ducks. Duarte could be put in off the bench or for a mismatch, which is typical of the style of play Dana Altman likes. Duarte was born in Montreal and currently lives in the Dominican Republic.

Altman’s impressed with Duarte, “Really excited. Chris is someone that is very versatile. Really impressed with what he had done in Florida. Has a great work ethic. We’re hoping Chris with his versatility can do a lot of things for us. ”

The other to student-athletes Altman signed will be Freshman – when they arrive on campus.

Chandler Lawson is a four-star recruit and considered the 14th best Power Forward in the Class of 2019 by 247Sports. He has won State Championships and will transfer for his Senior season to be coached by his father at Wooddale High School. Lawson is a member of the Class of 2019. Head Coach Dana Altman may not yet be done with the Class of 2019 but is in ‘wait and see’ mode.

The third recruit may well be the most important, but he won’t be on campus for another two years. Isaac Johnson is another four-star recruit and the top talent in the State of Utah. He is expected to take a two year LDS mission following high school graduation delaying his arrival on campus to the 2021-22 season.

"I think all three of them are a great fit for our program and we’ve had such good success without junior college players…I think Chris will give us the same type of performance.Dana Altman on the three players signed to National Letters of Intent"
