2019 Draft Quarterback Rankings: Justin Herbert Avoids Fall Despite Injury
By Alex Weber
This was it…the final week of the regular season. After a slew of exciting quarterback performances, narrowing down the list to the 5 best was no easy task, as per usual.
Stats: 9/12 for 102 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT
Herbert was average for the time that he was in the game. And an average game by Herbert is still frickin awesome. It’s like having Jack Nicholson in The Departed. His performance isn’t great, really. He looks disheveled and out of shape the whole time and gives up on the Boston accent halfway through the movie. But…at the end of the day…it’s still A-list star Jack Nicholson on screen so the movie’s entertaining. Herbert did what he needed to, without super flashy plays, and then got injured and played it safe. He’s still number one, but keep that shoulder issue on your radars…because it’s a vital body part for being an NFL quarterback.
