Pac-12 Power Rankings: Oregon Stays Put Despite Loss

1. Arizona State

Tier one has a sole proprietor: Sparky. That’s right, Arizona State owns all real estate belonging to the top echelon of the Pac-12. You know, like every non-Insane ASU Homer, I never would’ve imagined that after three weeks of play, Bobby Hurley would repeat as the non-conference darling of the League. Some things never change I guess.

However,  this ASU team is different than last year’s for a variety of reasons. For one, they don’t over-rely on small guards for tough threes WOWing floaters for offense, and they actually play sound defense (compared to last season’s abysmal score-stopping prowess). Lu Dort has been a splendid surprise as a freshman, scoring a whopping 22 points per game. Expect that number to cool down some as the season chugs along, but Tempe has a stud in him. 1-and-done potential for sure. And Pac-12 Championship potential for 2019’s edition of the Sun Devils.
