The Oregon Ducks were down Head Coach Kelly Graves but still managed as Sabrina Ionescu put on a show against Air Force 82-36.

Graves was suspended for two games by the NCAA for having an additional trainer at practice earlier this month. He sat out the game with Air Force and will also miss the game vs UC Irvine. Mark Campell stepped in as Head Coach in his absence and Sabrina Ionescu did the rest.

After a night against Mississippi State that saw her score 17 straight free throws and struggle from the floor, Ionescu missed her first free throw vs Air Force, but it was clear midway through the game that she would be in range of a triple-double to take the All-time mark in the NCAA for both Men’s and Women’s Basketball.

Oregon was shooting better than 50 percent at halftime and held Air Force to 24 percent shooting before halftime. Ionescu had multiple inside assists to Ruthy Hebard and others in the first half.

Oregon took a 70-30 lead with just over seven minutes left in the game. At the six-minute mark, she had a triple-double and fans stood up and cheered as Erin Boley hit a three-pointer to extend the Oregon Ducks lead.

Air Force finished the game 1 for 8 from the floor and Ionescu led the way for Oregon. She became the record holder for triple-doubles for both sides of the sport.

Ruthy Hebard had 20 points and was 9 for 9 from the floor helping Oregon to 50 points inside the paint in the win. Satou Sabally had 19 points and went down hard on a foul. She was helped to her feet and went back into the game. (it may bear watching in the coming days.)

The story of the game was Ionescu. She finished the game with 17 points, 11 rebounds, and 13 assists. The Oregon Ducks have a quick turnaround and face UC Irvine on Friday at Noon at Matthew Knight Arena.
