Last season the USC Trojans went 5-7 and found their way to mediocrity. With Head Coach Clay Helton on the hottest seat in the Pac-12 entering 2019, the team needs to do better.

The Trojans have done well in recruiting and are working on putting the pieces together. They may very well have one of the deepest Wide Receiver groups in the Pac-12 along with a Defense that is finding experience.

On Offense, Wide Receiver Michael Pittman is setting the work ethic standard for USC. Not a bad place to have someone working to make the team better as a whole. He will be a vocal part of the offense as well as a key player for the Trojans this season. Entering the season the team looks more physical and that could pay dividends and help the team earn a few wins long the way.

Along with Michael Pittman, two big Freshman will see playing time. Both Munir McClain and Jake London add to the strength of this unit.

The Offensive weakness is the USC Trojans run game. Markese Stepp and Stephen Carr hope to find some more holes this season with a more physical offensive line. Kenan Criston is another player to watch and is among the fastest for USC for 2019, but it is not known if he will see the field.

Jack Sears, Matt Fink, and JT Daniels are the three-headed monster at Quarterback as the team prepares for Fresno State to open the season at the end of the month. All three had success in a recent scrimmage combining to go 64 for 84 in practice.

It is likely that the USC defense will be a work in progress in the first month with new faces in a lot of spots. They will have to get experience early to have success entering Pac-12 play.

USC will host the Fresno State Bulldogs to open 2019 on Saturday, August 31st.
