Mario Cristobal broke some tough news on Monday morning as it was announced that Jacob Breeland would miss the rest of the season due to injury.

Jacob Breeland has been a go to for Quarterback Justin Herbert throughout the first six weeks of the season for Oregon Football. He started out the game vs Colorado on Friday the same way scoring a touchdown and finishing the game early with 53 yards. He left the game after a 22-yard gain in the first quarter and did not return.

The Senior has been a key player over the first month as several key players got healthy enough to return to the field. The season started with Brenden Schooler and Mycah Pittman both on the sideline with injuries. Breeland has played a role in each game this season, whether it was blocking or catching a pass. His experience on the field shows and will be missed for the remainder of the 2019 season.

Oregon Football will turn to Hunter Kampmoyer, who just missed a touchdown pass vs Colorado and Ryan Bay. In making moves, Freshman Patrick Herbert will move from the developmental team to the scout team as he continues to work his way toward the field. Spencer Webb will also return to his natural tight end position after filling a needed Wide Receiver role to start the season.

Two other players that went down with injuries on the defensive end, Troy Dye and Jevon Holland both were cleared following the game with what Head Coach Mario Cristobal called minor injuries.

Oregon enters Washington week with a few questions to answer on offense including where will they find Breeland’s production. Someone will have to step up.

The Oregon Ducks travel north to take on the Washington Huskies on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 12:30 pm Pacific Time on ABC.
