Oregon Football heads up to Seattle to take on the Washington Huskies and weather could certainly be a factor.

While Oregon Football has played in mostly dry conditions under Head Coach Mario Cristobal, Saturday will be a different story. With wet weather expected throughout the game, I expect the run game will have some added importance. For Oregon, CJ Verdell has found his groove over the last few weeks and was the first 100-yard rusher of the season last week against Colorado. He was responsible for 171 all-purpose yards on the ground.

Travis Dye had some issues with fumbling a few weeks ago, but those drops should be forgotten. One player that has stepped into a bigger role is Cyrus Habibi-Likio. He had three touchdowns from short yardage last weekend and has been dealing with back spasms for most of the season. We can hope he is good enough to go today where the ground game could take center focus for both teams.

Another area to watch, especially with a Freshman kicker is Special Teams. While Camden Lewis has settled into the role following a rough game at Auburn, missing an extra point, wet weather brings a totally different element. Field goals could easily decide the game. The Oregon defense has been unbelievable this season and has yet to allow a touchdown in Pac-12 play and allowing just 17 points overall over the last month.

Quarterback Justin Herbert has come a long way since his first meeting with Washington. Oregon has seen several new coaching staff changes, and now Cristobal in his second season brings some consistency. The Ducks will be well prepared and know what a win means. Oregon is the only team in the Pac-12 without a conference loss and a win would give them close to complete control of the Pac-12 North.

Oregon and Washington kickoff on Saturday at 12:30 pm Pacific Time on ABC.
