Following Justin Herbert being taken by the San Diego Chargers in the first round, it took until the final day of the NFL Draft for three former Oregon Ducks to find new homes.

Troy Dye was the 132nd overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Many were expecting him to find a spot on the second day, but after injuries, he played through in the final few games with Oregon last season came to light, he dropped to the Minnesota Vikings.

Of all the players taken, outside of Herbert, he is the one player that has the best chance to succeed. Dye will put in the work. He left Oregon as the leading tackler on the team in all four seasons in Eugene.

Add to that, his roommate with the Ducks is with Minnesota. I expect that Dillon Mitchell will get Dye up to NFL speed. He will also enter camp 100 percent healthy. Following the Draft, Dye said he will do whatever it takes to help the Vikings win. While Dye was a leader for Oregon on the field, he will likely need to show it on the field with Minnesota.

Shane Lemieux was selected with the 150th pick and is headed to the New York Giants. Lemieux started all 52 games in his four seasons as a Duck and was one of the teams most durable players.

One other player was selected. Jake Hanson was taken by the Green Bay Packers with the 208th selection. Like Lemieux, he proved durable taking over the starting spot in 2016 and not looking back.

There were several other former Oregon Ducks signed as Free Agents. The New Orleans Saints made out signing Calvin Throckmorton, who has played all five positions on the offensive line for Oregon. Wide Receiver Juwan Johnson and Defensive End. Bryson Young signed with the Atlanta Falcons and former Oregon Tight End Jacob Breeland agreed with the Baltimore Ravens.
