2. Rebounding continued to be a weakness

If there’s one thing Oregon has struggled with all season, it’s rebounding. The Ducks have been solid on offense and when the defense really applies itself, it can cause serious problems, but the rebounding has left a lot to be desired.

Oregon actually ranks just 298th (not ideal) out of over 300 teams in college basketball in rebounds per game, pulling down just over 33 per contest.

That continues against Oregon State on Friday night.

When Oregon needed stops, it got some but then those big defensive stands were followed by offensive rebounds for Oregon State. The Beavers finished with 12 offensive rebounds which was half the amount of total boards the Ducks had as a team. Oregon finished with just 24 rebounds to Oregon State’s 38 and that was a huge difference in this one.

The comeback was cut short because the Ducks couldn’t stop the second-chance points from the Beavers. They got some stops but momentum was never there because Oregon State would get the rebound and kick it out for a crushing three or an easy put-back.
