1. This may have just been the perfect wake-up call

Losing is never a positive thing and it’s twice as painful when that loss comes against a rival, but sometimes, wake-up calls are needed.

Don’t get me wrong, Oregon had been playing really well heading into Friday’s game, riding a six-game winning streak, but the last time the Ducks lost by double-digits, they reeled off six in a row. If that trend continues this time around, that would mean Oregon will be playing for a national title in a few weeks.

OK, let’s not get ahead of ourselves because a lot has to happen before that, but losing before the tournament isn’t going to hurt. Oregon is going to be fine and the Ducks will likely still be on the No. 5 or No. 6 seed line. That’s perfectly fine given how open the field is.

Oregon was starting to feel invincible and took Oregon State for granted in the Pac-12 tourney loss but you can bet that they aren’t going to overlook any opponents from here on out.

This team is hungry and they have responded well to losses this season already.
