Darrius Clemons recently released his top 10 and Oregon football made the cut. Are the Ducks actually in the lead for the four-star wide out?

As one of the top prospects in the country for the 2022 class, Darrius Clemons has a long list of potential suitors. A week ago, he narrowed that list to just 10.

Making the top 10, Oregon looked to have a good shot at the four-star receiver mostly because he’s a local kid from Portland, Ore. Oregon State is also in the running due to proximity and how early the Beavers got in on his recruitment, but the in-state kids know which program has had the most success and brightest future.

Oregon will have a loaded list of potential suitors to battle it out with. Notre Dame, Michigan, Arizona, Auburn, Stanford, Northwestern, USC and Penn State — along with Oregon State — made the cut and will be making it difficult on the Ducks when trying to keep him home.

Oregon football picking up steam for Clemons

The Ducks may be currently trending with the Portland-native they’ve picked up two Crystal Balls over the past month. The two 247Sports recruiting experts who put in the Crystal Balls for Clemons to Oregon have a perfect 15-for-15 prediction record in the 2022 class. The only expert to have a prediction in and not to Oregon is Brandon Huffman and that was to Penn State all the way back in May of last year.

A lot has since changed and Oregon football looks like the popular pick for the 6-3, 205-pound wide out from Portland.

Mario Cristobal has been killing it on the recruiting trail and if he can reel in a guy like Clemons who can come in and compete for snaps right away, that would be huge for the program’s in-state prowess.

Clemons is ranked the No. 132 overall prospect, 18th-best receiver and the state of Oregon’s No. 1 recruit in the 2022 class, according to the 247Sports composite. He holds over 30 offers as well.
