Oregon basketball picked up a big win over Iowa on Monday afternoon and the dominance was enough to earn some national respect.

Oregon had one of the best games of the entire NCAA Tournament on Monday afternoon, downing No. 2 seed Iowa by 15 points and nearly breaking 100.

The Ducks won 95-80 and the offense looked unstoppable for 40 minutes with Chris Duarte and LG Figueroa scoring 20-plus and Will Richardson and Eugene Omoruyi each scoring over 15. Eric Williams Jr. finished with nine and two boards and that’s not too shabby from the “least productive” of the five starters against the Hawkeyes.

Oregon put the Pac-12 on its back early in the afternoon, advancing to the Sweet 16, joining Oregon State who shocked Oklahoma State the night before.

USC and UCLA both followed the Ducks’ lead on Monday, beating Kansas and Abilene Christian by 20-plus points, respectively.

A strong showing in the second round, minus Colorado, has put four Pac-12 teams in the Sweet 16 as the conference has looked dominant through the first weekend.

Andy Katz recently released his power rankings of the Sweet 16 teams and the Ducks were surprisingly high after their one blowout win, ranking third.

The Ducks are behind just Gonzaga and Baylor in his power rankings and the other Pac-12 teams are No. 5 (USC), No. 9 (Oregon State) and No. 13 (UCLA).

Oregon is finally getting some respect after a 20-6 regular season which only resulted in a 7-seed. That disrespect ended up hurting Iowa as the Hawkeyes didn’t match up well with the Ducks and they found out just how under-seeded Oregon is.

With these types of power rankings, you would almost be led to believe the Ducks have a decent chance of making the Final Four, but they’ll have to beat the No. 5 and No. 1 team on this list to make it that far.
