1. Quarterback battle

Clearly the most important storyline to watch (which was mentioned on the first page) is the quarterback battle and who takes the lead heading into the summer.

Anthony Brown announced his return following the season and it came as a bit of a surprise given the fact that Tyler Shough took most of the snaps for the Ducks and he didn’t see the field much until the end of the year. He is back and he’s going to have another quarterback battle on his hands with a younger guy as Ty Thompson is the presumed “future” of the program.

Thompson is an early enrollee with the 2021 recruiting class and he was a top-50 recruit who looks like a future pro. He has all the intangibles that you want in a quarterback and the Ducks could go the same route as Clemson and Alabama and start a freshman as long as he gives the team the highest ceiling.

Don’t sleep on Jay Butterfield, though. He’s a redshirt freshman and former four-star recruit who has solid size and a strong arm. He should join that battle this spring as the dark-horse.

All eyes across the country will be watching this quarterback battle this spring.
