Oregon Football: Jevon Holland draws comparison to Charles Woodson
Jevon Holland is looked at as one of the top NFL draft prospects in the 2021 class and even though he’s a potential Day 1 pick, he doesn’t get enough recognition for how good he really is.
The Oregon star safety opted out of his junior season with the Ducks in order to prepare for the NFL draft and that hasn’t hurt his stock one bit. He had a breakout sophomore season in 2019, recording 66 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, four interceptions, and four pass deflections in his final season with the Ducks which has rocketed him up the draft boards.
Standing 6-foot-0, 207 pounds, Holland has decent size and he is one of the quickest rising stars in the draft class and he’s even drawing some lofty comparisons.
If all goes as planned, Oregon could have two first-round draft picks in 2021.
Former NFL star compares Jevon Holland to Charles Woodson
Charles Woodson is one of the best defensive backs to ever do it. The former Heisman Trophy winner from Michigan (and last defensive player to win the coveted award) is now a Pro Football Hall of Famer and had a successful 17-year career in the NFL playing both cornerback and safety.
So being compared to Woodson would be quite the compliment.
Well, one former NFL star used the lofty comparison to describe Holland and the style of defensive back that he plays.
OK, so let’s allow Holland to play a little in the NFL before holding him up to this standard, but this just goes to show that his potential is through the roof.
Oregon fans have to be excited to see Holland at the next level because he could be the future of the league.
