Alabama. LSU. Ohio State. Clemson. Those are the four teams that have seemed to dominate the NFL draft over the past decade. You can add Oregon football to that list.

There are other teams like Texas A&M, Florida, Oklahoma, and Georgia, among others, that have had success in the NFL draft over the past decade, but Alabama, LSU, Ohio State, and Clemson truly lead the pack.

In fact, Alabama has had 38 first-round draft picks since 2010 which almost seems unrealistic. That’s an average of about three first-round draft picks per year which is wild.

And then there’s this stat about Oregon’s success in the top-10 picks of the NFL draft which compares to the likes of Alabama, LSU, Ohio State, Clemson, Texas A&M, and Georgia.

With Penei Sewell going Np. 7 overall to the Detroit Lions, the Ducks now have five top-10 picks over the past decade. This is also the second season in a row (Justin Herbert last year) the Ducks had a top-10 pick and could very well have a third straight with Kayvon Thibodeaux next year.

Who have been Oregon football’s top-10 picks?

We mentioned Sewell and Herbert in the Mario Cristobal era, but before him, there was DeForest Buckner back in 2016 when he went seventh overall to the 49ers. He made a Pro Bowl two years later.

The year before Buckner was Marcus Mariota who was selected No. 2 overall by the Titans and he was a breakout star before getting injured and never really looking the same.

And lastly, there was defensive end Dion Jordan who went third overall to the Dolphins back in 2013.

Not too shabby for the Ducks who are bringing in more talent every year under Cristobal. We may be looking at top-10 picks almost every year for the near future.
