Tennessee is suffering a mass exodus, of sorts, this offseason and it had a lot to do with the departure of head coach Jeremy Pruitt. It seems like every single linebacker on the roster has decided to transfer and Martavius French may be the least talked about of the bunch, but he’s plenty talented.

The Ducks have a solid group of starting linebackers and potentially the best backup in college football in Justin Flowe, but it wouldn’t hurt to add some talented depth in the two-deep.

Noah Sewell, Mase Funa, Isaac Slade-Matautia, and Adrian Jackson are the projected starters with Flowe right there to potentially snatch a spot from someone, but add French to the mix and he could be on that two-deep when the season starts in place of some lesser backups.

French was a four-star inside linebacker in the 2020 class, ranked the No. 330 overall prospect and 17th-best at the position out of Memphis, Tenn., according to the 247Sports composite. He received a ton of interest from the SEC but decided to stay close to home. Oregon was his only Pac-12 offer and if staying home isn’t a must, the Ducks should be in play here.
