Oregon Football: Top 8 early prospects for 2022 NFL Draft
Oregon football had five players selected in the 2021 NFL Draft a week ago and now the Ducks are looking ahead to the 2021 season and a subsequent 2022 draft class.
Five players is a good amount for a young team and the Ducks are only going to produce more moving forward. And for the first time in school history, they might produce a third straight top-10 pick after Justin Herbert went to the Chargers in 2020 and Penei Sewell went to the Lions in the 2021 NFL Draft. Kayvon Thibodeaux could be an option for the No. 1 overall pick.
Outside of Thibodeaux, who are the Ducks’ other top prospects for the 2022 NFL Draft?
A name we don’t hear nearly enough about is Alex Forsyth and that’s a shame because he might be one of the best centers in college football.
The local prospect from West Linn, Ore., saw action in just 10 games leading up to 2020 and then he took over the center position and never looked back. He played 440 snaps for the Ducks over seven games and allowed just one sack and it was his first season playing center. He adjusted nicely to his new position and looked like a star.
Forsyth was named to the All-Pac-12 second team and really turned some heads on a national level. He’ll likely be on the preseason Rimington Award watch list which honors the nation’s top center every season and I wouldn’t be shocked if he won it.
Keep an eye on Forsyth as he might be one of the fastest risers in the 2022 NFL Draft class.
