Mykael Wright could be the Ducks’ highest-drafted defensive back since Patrick Chung went 34th overall in 2009. Jevon Holland nearly topped that this year, going No. 36 overall to the Dolphins.

But Wright has all the talent in the world and I honestly wouldn’t be all that shocked if he snuck into the first round as one of the first cornerbacks taken. There’s a good chance he comes back in 2022, but if his stock is “first round” by the end of the season, who would be shocked to see him take that opportunity and run with it? No one.

Wright came to Oregon as one of the top recruits in the country and only lived up to the hype as a freshman with 21 tackles, two tackles for loss, a pick, and four pass breakups in 11 games. He only got better as a sophomore, recording 27 tackles and nine pass breakups in seven games. He was named to the All-Pac-12 first team as well.

Heading into the 2021 season, Wright may be the best cornerback in the entire Pac-12 and if that’s the case, how could he not be considered a first-round prospect?
