One of the best running backs in the country is showing some serious interest in Oregon football.

Oklahoma commit Raleek Brown from Mater Dei in Santa Ana, Calif., has been a Sooner for a few months now, but it seems like he’s keeping his options open. He plans to take a couple of visits before making his decision final to both USC and Oregon.

But the Ducks hold a special place in the No. 46 overall recruit and top all-purpose back’s (according to the 247Sports Composite) heart.

According to Andrew Nemec of The Oregonian, Oregon is going to get a visit from Brown in June and he gushed about the school. He even called it a “dream school” growing up.

"“It’s always been a dream school of mine growing up,” Brown said. “I always had a plan to take a OV there. I went a couple years ago on a unofficial.”"

Brown went on to say he likes the coaching staff at Oregon and hopes to develop stronger relationships before making sure he’s dead-set on Oklahoma.

There’s still a chance Oregon could make up some ground with a visit.

Oregon football is his ‘dream school’ for a reason

Before he committed to Oklahoma back in February, he had Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Alabama, USC, and Oregon on his top schools list. He chose the Sooners with the hopes of becoming the latest in the long line of successful running backs, but Oregon’s backs haven’t been too shabby over the years, either.

Royce Freeman, Kenjon Barner, and LaMichael James have been drafted just over the past decade and there’s a good chance CJ Verdell will be next.

With that kind of success and spots potentially opening up in the backfield in 2022 along with a beautiful campus and one of the best stadiums in the country, how could a top running back recruit say no?

Most young football players on the West Coast grow up dreaming of playing for the Ducks. Will Brown stay out west, though?
