It was just far too difficult to pick just one freshman receiver here and both Troy Franklin and Dont’e Thornton have an equal opportunity to break out in 2021.

If you watched the spring game, you would have seen the four-star early enrolled freshmen receivers dazzle with a combined seven receptions for 182 yards and a touchdown. Yes, that’s 182 combined receiving yards for a couple of top-100 recruits who had only been on campus for a few months which is a scary thought when you consider they’re only going to get better.

Franklin was the highest-ranked receiver in the Ducks’ 2021 class but Thornton has better size. Both are explosive and make some impressive plays and we should expect to see a lot of them this season despite the depth at receiver.

The Ducks might just have the best receiving corps in the Pac-12 with Devon Williams, Jaylon Redd, Johnny Johnson, Josh Delgado, Kris Hutson, and Mycah Pittman but add in these two and it goes from really good to flat-out unfair.

Thornton and Franklin are going to do big things this season.
