Oregon Basketball: 3 reasons Quincy Guerrier should commit to Ducks
2. Chance to compete for titles right away
When looking for a new home, most players like to pick programs that can compete for titles right away — not necessarily rebuilding projects.
Arizona State is more of a rebuild and the Sun Devils are losing Remy Martin to Kansas and was a major disappointment this past season, Memphis is a top AAC team but that doesn’t necessarily mean top college basketball squad, and Illinois is losing a lot from a team that was bounced in the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2020-21.
Out of his four finalists, Oregon has the best shot to win its conference and content for a national title, if all goes as planned. He might just be the missing piece the Ducks need.
Oregon has won back-to-back Pac-12 regular-season titles and the Ducks bring back one of the best guards in the country in Will Richardson along with one of Dana Altman’s deepest posts ever, and a couple of really good transfers in Rivaldo Soares and De’Vion Harmon.
Yeah, Oregon will be just fine after losing Chris Duarte, Eugene Omoruyi, Chandler Lawson, and LG Figueroa. Actually, more than just fine. These Ducks should be Pac-12 title favorites again.
