1. Chance to learn from — and be the next — Kayvon Thibodeaux

Oregon has something that none of JT Tuimoloau’s other finalists have: the No. 1 projected NFL draft pick and top defensive end in the country.

That’s something that should draw an elite young prospect.

If you’re the top defensive end prospect in the country, would you rather go and back up guys who aren’t considered first-round prospects, or would you rather go learn from the top player at that position in the country who was in your shoes just a couple of years earlier? The answer would have to be the latter.

Tuimoloau could grow more quickly at Oregon, learning from Kayvon Thibodeaux and kind of soaking in the knowledge and moves that his potential predecessor possesses.

Sure, he could still be a great player at Ohio State, Alabama, USC, and Washington, but it’s hard to beat having the top defensive end in the country who can share all of his secrets for success.

Who wouldn’t want to be sold on being the next Thibodeaux?
