Oregon football hosted a big target on the opening weekend of officials for the 2022 class on June 4 as Bishop Gorman’s Cyrus Moss was in Eugene to check out one of his top schools.

Moss is 247Sports‘ No. 3 defensive end in the nation and the recruiting service also lists him as the No. 26 prospect in the 2022 class. There’s been plenty of chatter about him liking the Ducks and vice versa and the trend has continued in Oregon’s favor after last weekend.

According to the latest crystal ball prediction on 247Sports, Steve Wiltfong likes the Ducks’ chances with Moss after his official visit. He must have heard something noteworthy if he’s putting in a prediction because he doesn’t just throw those around. He put one in for Robby Snelling earlier in the week and now one for Moss.

Oregon is looking good in the 2022 class.

The Ducks are going to be looking for a replacement for Kayvon Thibodeaux who is likely going to be a first-round draft pick in 2022 and he may even go No. 1 overall.

Mario Cristobal is in on five-star defensive end JT Tuimoloau who’s yet to make a decision but he’s a member of the 2021 class and could help right away, but even if he does pick Oregon, the head coach would love to add some insurance in the form of Moss.

Moss could be ‘that guy’ for Oregon football

Just like Thibodeaux is “that guy” for Oregon’s defense right now, Moss could be the next to follow in those footsteps on that line as a dominant edge rusher.

The 6-6, 220-pounder from Nevada plays for one of the best high school football programs in the nation and has drawn some impressive comparisons to Anthony Barr from 247Sports‘ Blair Angulo. He, too, has put in a crystal ball for Moss to Oregon.

If all goes as planned after his visits to Notre Dame and Arizona State, Moss will be Oregon’s top-ranked 2022 commit. That’s a big if, though.
