There’s just something about Oregon football and top offensive linemen lately.

It seems like the Ducks are recruiting the offensive line better than ever before and landing five-star offensive tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. on July 4 was the proof. He became the highest-ranked offensive line commit in Oregon history and it may have had something to do with the fact the Ducks just had a lineman go top-10 in the most recent NFL draft.

The Penei Sewell effect has been working wonders as Bram Walden and Kingsley Suamataia committed in the 2021 class and now the Ducks have Banks Jr. along with Michael Wooten and Cameron Williams in 2022.

And now, the Ducks are trending with one of the best interior offensive linemen in the 2022 class in four-star Dave Iuli from Puyallup, Wash.

After landing three offensive linemen in a week, the Ducks are close to picking up another commitment in the trenches, it seems, as crystal balls have been flooding in for Iuli to Oregon on 247Sports in recent days. In fact, there have been five predictions and all of them favor Oregon.

Oregon football’s offensive line looking loaded

After landing Wooten, Williams, and Banks Jr., it seemed like there would be at least a slow period for the remainder of the class on the offensive line but it seems fairly clear that guys might be worried about not having a spot if they don’t commit sooner rather than later. Hence the Iuli trend.

The No. 194 overall recruit and ninth-best interior offensive lineman, per the composite, in the 2022 class recently announced his top nine schools with LSU, USC, Oregon State, Cal, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Washington, and Oklahoma also in the mix.

If the Ducks pick up a commitment from Iuli, which looks likely, I expect them to have one of the best offensive lines in college football by the time the 2022 season rolls around.
