Mario Cristobal has a roster full of elite cornerback talent but that hasn’t stopped him from recruiting the position hard in Oregon football’s 2022 class.

The Ducks did just miss out on five-star Daylen Everette, but there’s a name to keep an eye on in the class who just recently committed to a Pac-12 foe.

Recent Arizona commit Zeke Berry was high on the Ducks before picking the Wildcats, but it seems like his recruitment isn’t over just because he gave a verbal pledge to Jedd Fisch.

According to a recent VIP post from Matt Prehm of 247Sports, the four-star Arizona commit is still interested in the Ducks despite committing less than a week ago.

You have to subscribe to 247Sports to be able to read the quotes from Berry but Prehm’s preview states that the Ducks are still in the running for one of the nation’s top cornerbacks. Although he committed to Arizona on July 23, Berry seems to be keeping his options open and Cristobal isn’t letting this one end in a loss just yet.

Berry is ranked as 247Sports‘ No. 143 overall recruit and 20th-best cornerback, reigning from Concord, Calif. He’d be quite the flip by Oregon.

Can Oregon football flip Berry?

If Berry just committed and has openly stated that he’s keeping the Ducks close just in case he’s not 100 percent with the Wildcats, then yes, there is a good chance Oregon wins this one.

It all depends on how much effort Cristobal wants to put into this recruitment.

Keeping in contact with Berry after his commitment is a good sign that the head coach is still very interested and if he wants to go full-court press here, he has a good chance.

Berry will be a name to keep an eye on because I wouldn’t be totally shocked if he flipped to Oregon by the early signing period.
