Mario Cristobal has the 2022 Oregon football class up there with some of the best in the country as the Ducks are currently ranked No. 12 nationally and No. 1 in the Pac-12.

The Ducks have been as high as No. 7 in the 2022 class after a string of commitments in June and July and with 16 pledges currently, there’s still likely room from anywhere between 6-8 more recruits. The Ducks can be selective with the class filling up and two priorities could be closer to joining Oregon’s 2022 group after receiving a handful of crystal balls over the past week.

In fact, four-star cornerback Jahlil Florence and four-star athlete Jalil Tucker both from Lincoln in San Diego, Calif., look to be closer to remaining teammates at the next level in Eugene.

Florence received a few crystal balls to Oregon over the past week with a high confidence rating and Tucker, who just announced his commitment date of Aug. 20, also has four predictions to the Ducks with a high confidence rating. It looks like both are going to be Ducks sooner rather than later.

Could they be a package deal? The only team on both of their trimmed lists is Oregon so maybe the draw of playing together in the defensive backfield in college will be too much for the other finalists to overcome. Oregon looks really good here.

Tucker, Florence will boost Oregon football’s 2022 class

Oregon is currently ranked the No. 12 class in the country for 2022, but adding a couple of four-stars on 247Sports is only going to boost that.

Tucker is the higher-rated of the two, listed as the No. 61 prospect in the class, according to 247Sports, and the fourth-best athlete. He figures to play defensive back at the next level. Florence isn’t ranked in the Top247 for the 2022 class, but he’s a four-star on 247Sports, listed as the No. 33 cornerback in the country.

These two might just commit around the same time and Oregon has to like its chances with both if that’s the case.

The defensive backfield is about to get even stronger.
