Oregon football on verge of completing flip of 4-star DL Ben Roberts?
Oregon football’s Saturday Night Live recruiting event and camp a few weeks ago was big for the program and it seemed to stir up some momentum for Mario Cristobal’s 2022 class.
The Ducks already had the best 2022 class in the Pac-12 and one of the 15 best in the country, but it’s only getting better with each passing week since the event. In fact, the Ducks landed four-star cornerback Jahlil Florence last week and then four-star wide out Tetairoa McMillan on Monday.
Those two additions have been good enough to land the Ducks inside the top 10 yet again and 247Sports is even higher on Oregon’s group, ranking it No. 4 in the nation.
It could soon be climbing again as four-star athlete Jalil Tucker is expected to make his announcement on Aug. 20 and former Washington commit Ben Roberts just decommitted from the Huskies just a few weeks after taking a trip to Eugene.

Shortly after Roberts’ decommitment from Washington on Tuesday, Oregon received three big crystal balls for him, including one from the director of recruiting at 247Sports, Steve Wiltfong.
All the confidence levels on these crystal balls are relatively high.
Things are looking really good for Oregon here.
Oregon football trying to bolster interior of defensive line
Currently committed to Oregon’s 2022 class are four-star defensive lineman Gracen Halten and three-star defensive lineman Sir Mells who both project to be on the interior.
If Roberts does flip, he’d become the second-highest rated defensive lineman in the Ducks’ 2022 class, according to the composite, as he’s listed as the No. 390 overall prospect in the class, but 247Sports is even higher on him, rating him a four-star.
Oregon does have some decent pieces on the interior for the next few years in Popo Aumavae, Brandon Dorlus, Kristian Williams, Jayson Jones, Keyon Ware-Hudson, Keanu Williams, Sua’ava Poti, and Maceal Afaese. But you can never have too much depth on the interior; you can never have too many big bodies.
Roberts is a 6-4, 290-pound monster from Utah who could be the latest from the state to star at Oregon. The flip is almost complete.
