Oregon football opens the season on Saturday afternoon against a Fresno State team that looked really good in its opening win against UConn.

The Ducks enter the season as the favorites to win the Pac-12 and potentially make a playoff run, but if they look bad against the Bulldogs in the opener, a lot of expectations can change in a hurry. They might be one of the most talented teams in the country, on paper, but if that doesn’t translate to the field, there will be major issues.

Mario Cristobal and the Ducks have a prime opportunity to kick the season off right and gain some momentum heading into Week 2.

Here are three things I want to see from Oregon against the Bulldogs on Saturday.

3. Troy Franklin breakout performance

Seeing Troy Franklin win the starting job at receiver makes me believe that he is on the verge of a breakout season. The coaching staff talked him up all offseason and he finally did enough to find himself a spot in the starting lineup.

Franklin impressed the coaching staff enough to give him the nod over guys like Isaah Crocker and one of my breakout favorites Devon Williams.

I also stated a couple of weeks ago that I believed Franklin has the potential to be a Freshman All-American and I truly believe that. I’d love to see him build some confidence against Fresno State with a big game heading into Ohio State week.
