Oregon Football: 3 bold predictions for opener vs. Fresno State
It’s finally game day, folks. Oregon football is back and the quest for a playoff berth starts on Saturday afternoon against Fresno State.
The Bulldogs began the 2021 season with a Week 0 win over UConn which opened some eyes because of the dominant nature, but the Ducks still feel good about their chances on Saturday. Fresno State was an average team last season and I don’t think they improved that much.
Fresno State might put up more of a fight than originally expected, but I don’t think there’s any chance that the Bulldogs pull off an upset in Autzen Stadium.
Let’s get bold ahead of Saturday afternoon’s game.
3. Troy Franklin puts up 100 yards in his first game
I’ll admit, when I saw Troy Franklin as one of Oregon’s starting receivers on the first depth chart, a smile came across my face. All my hyping him up seems to have been for a good cause because the freshman appears ready to take the nation by storm.
That starts on Saturday against the Bulldogs.
Franklin is going to be a problem for that Fresno State secondary which doesn’t have to just worry about him, but also Johnny Johnson III, Mycah Pittman, Jaylon Redd, Isaah Crocker, Dont’e Thornton, and Devon Williams. This secondary is going to be reeling all afternoon and Franklin will take advantage.
The freshman receiver is going to catch six passes for 115 yards and a touchdown to really get that excitement flowing ahead of an Ohio State battle next week.
