It’s been nearly a whole month since Oregon football last picked up a commitment in its 2022 recruiting class, but that could soon change.

The Ducks landed Ben Robers back on Sept. 5 and the 2022 recruiting class has been quiet since. It’s still ranked No. 1 in the Pac-12 and No. 7 in the nation, according to the 247Sports composite, but it’s filling up quickly with 20 players currently committed.

Mario Cristobal has proven that he’s one of the nation’s top recruiters over the past few cycles so this ranking of No. 7 nationally is not surprising. Plus, beating Ohio State and rising to No. 3 in the AP Top 25 has probably helped matters on the recruiting trail.

It looks like he’s about to land yet another four-star and top-200 recruit in the form of linebacker Devon Jackson from Omaha, Neb.

Jackson is also high on Arizona State, but it looks like the Ducks are the current favorite and they’re also trending for the four-star. In fact, Greg Biggins just put in a crystal ball for the Ducks and two others did as well on Wednesday afternoon. The overwhelming feeling among recruiting experts is that Jackson will soon be a Duck.

This will likely push Oregon closer to that top-five national ranking for 2022.

Jackson would be Oregon football’s fourth-highest ranked commit

Jackson is ranked the No. 154 overall recruit and 18th-best linebacker in the class, according to the composite, which would make him the Ducks’ fourth-highest ranked commit. He would also be the top linebacker pledge for Oregon (if he were to commit), surpassing TJ Dudley who is ranked the No. 201 prospect in the class.

Oregon’s impressive 2021 class looks like it’ll soon be growing with the addition of this future star.
