2. It’s time to give Ty Thompson a shot

Listen, I was a huge believer in the “let’s give him a real shot” mindset and he looked like Anthony Brown was proving everyone wrong through the first month, but the problems that existed early on have persisted and he just doesn’t have the look of a playoff-caliber quarterback.

Brown can make plays with both his arm and legs but he hasn’t been ‘that dude’ all season long. He’s made some big plays against Fresno State, Arizona, and most importantly Ohio State, but he’s not consistent and his accuracy issues can absolutely kill drives. With a more accurate quarterback who really has the respect of opposing defenses, the Ducks can be unstoppable.

It’s time to give Ty Thompson a real shot.

Sure, Brown won the quarterback battle in fall camp, but Thompson wasn’t far behind as a true freshman. He earned plenty of respect from the staff and his teammates and he has appeared sparingly this season but looked really good against Stony Brook.

It feels like now is the time to see what the Ducks have in Thompson and if he can help them get to a playoff.
