Coming off a win against UCLA on the road, Oregon football is looking to win its third straight game and improve to 7-1 on the year. But Colorado has other ideas.

The Buffaloes have been disappointing this season after a surprisingly effective 2020 campaign under first-year head coach Karl Dorrell. They’re 2-5 on the year and have just one win in conference play and that was over the league’s worst team in Arizona. They’re hoping Oregon continues its trend of playing down to competition.

But the Ducks may have turned the corner against a tough UCLA team last weekend. They dominated the entire second half en route to a 34-31 win in the Rose Bowl.

Let’s get bold ahead of Saturday’s Pac-12 showdown in Eugene. It’s time for some style points.

3. Travis Dye rushes for 150 yards

Colorado has seen a big drop-off from last year in a lot of areas and run defense is one of them. The Buffaloes allow about 160 yards per game on the ground and Travis Dye is going to capitalize on that in a big way.

Believe it or not, Dye has rushed for 100 yards or more just once this season and that came against Cal which was his first start after CJ Verdell was ruled out for the year.

On Saturday, he’s going to have his second 100-yard game of the season. He rushed for 145 yards against Cal, but I think he tops that against Colorado, putting up over 150 rushing yards in his best game of the year.

Two 100-yard games in three weeks since losing Verdell? Not too shabby.
