It’s a big day for everyone who follows college football. We are leading up to the first playoff rankings of the season on Tuesday night on the East Coast and 4 p.m. PT. Oregon football is ranked No. 7 in the AP Top 25 and the Ducks feel like they deserve to be in the top-four conversation after a 7-1 start to the season.

The Ducks are fresh off a big win over Colorado in which they dominated the Buffaloes 52-29 thanks to an offensive outburst by backup running back Byron Cardwell as well as Anthony Brown.

Oregon looked like a much-improved offensive team and added some style points to the resume which had to have impressed the playoff committee.

We are going to see on Tuesday evening just how impressed the committee was.

Where will Oregon football be ranked in first playoff poll?

The first playoff poll is always exciting to keep an eye on because it shows just how far your team has to climb in order to make the field of four and how the committee views your team.

Will Oregon get some respect despite having one loss to an unranked Stanford team? I think so, especially since the Ducks are the only team to have beaten Ohio State this season and that came back in Week 2 in Columbus — arguably the best win in college football.

So where do I think we will see Oregon ranked on Tuesday?

Well, I think No. 1 for Georgia is a lock. There’s been talk about Michigan State claiming that No. 2 spot, but I think Ohio State and Alabama, along with the Spartans, will round out the top four. Cincinnati and Oklahoma will be the first two out but Oregon will be in that seventh spot.

This isn’t a bad spot to be with the top six all facing their toughest tests in the month of November so there’s a good chance at least 3-4 of them lose another game and make room for a team like Oregon right on the fringe of that top four.
