Twitter was heated on Tuesday night. After the first Champions Classic game, the CFP rankings were released and Oregon football fans tuned in to see if they would move up or stay at No. 4.

The Ducks were happy to find out that they had the No. 3 spot in the latest rankings, moving up one spot because Michigan State lost to Purdue last week. Oregon is now 8-1 on the season after beating Washington and the Spartans’ loss to Purdue opened up a spot in the top-three where the Ducks took over and Ohio State jumped to No. 4.

Obviously Buckeye fans weren’t too happy with the poll because Michigan is ahead of Michigan State despite a head-to-head loss, so why is Oregon still ahead of Ohio State?

Mario Cristobal’s team took care of business in Week 10, beating Washington on the road despite not playing its best football. The Ducks have to feel good about their position and the fact that they control their own destiny with three games left int he regular season.

How did Twitter react to Oregon football’s spot in CFP rankings?

Oregon fans are happy about the one-spot jump in the playoff rankings this week, but Ohio State fans are less than pleased. The Michigan-Michigan State head-to-head matchup apparently didn’t matter while the committee still values Oregon’s win over the Buckeyes.

The consensus reaction is that Oregon doesn’t deserve to be ahead of Ohio State if Michigan is ahead of Michigan State. What do you think?
